It’s a ‘Do as I say,
not as I do’ world

o, Jack Kevorkian, the infamous Dr.
Death, the controversial retired pathologist who
claimed he had assisted in
the suicides of 130 gravely ill people, died a few days
ago.
And, yes, you guessed it,
he died a “natural” death.
Now, I don’t know whether this qualifies as true irony, but the headline that stated the situation sure caught
my attention. And the judgmental words that popped
out of my mouth when I
read it rhymed with “brickn-spit.”
I mean, Hey Doc …
scared to follow your own
advice?
Now, I will grudgingly
note that Dr. Jack was in
the hospital less than a
month before he died, at
age 83, of complications
from pneumonia and kidney
problems.

Maybe if he’d have
been hospitalized for a
longer period he would
have followed his own
counsel, pressed a button
and checked out when the
summer reruns started.
Maybe, when death snuck
up on him, he was expecting
to recover so he could go
home and change the cat
litter, or he was hoping
to catch the end of the
recession, I don’t know.
On the other hand, maybe
those around him wouldn’t
